Mostly performed musically, the short life of Eva Peron is charted in this film. Madonna plays the lead role with Antonio Banderas providing a narration. Eva is a poor farmer’s daughter who meets up with a singer. Through this singer she is introduced to the high society of Argentina. Her new lifestyle takes her into the entertainment world making her name as a singer and actress. It is only a matter of time before she meets Juan Peron and strikes up a relationship with the eminent politician, who eventually becomes President. The film takes the viewer through her short life until her tragic death at the age of 33. |
