Serial-style hero and dashing pilot Joe Sullivan (Jude Law) is unexpectedly reunited with ace reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow), his ex-lover, when the plucky journalist needs to be rescued from giant robots terrorizing Manhattan. The adventure only heats up from there as the brave aviator and the beautiful blonde find a string of clues leading them from the Himalayas to a sky base to a mysterious island, where lurks the mysterious Dr. Totenkopf, a mad scientist bent on bringing the world to an end to raise up a new society of his own. Together, they must foil his insidious scheme before his powerful rocket blasts wipe out the Earth.
